This beautiful and thought-provoking book documents photographer, Sean Dooley's Afterlife project. Sean has worked with natural history collections around Britain to document the extinction of animal species and Afterlife portrays creatures that are losing, or have lost, their fight for survival. Because of their rarity these specimens are important sources of knowledge that can not only help us to conserve life but also act as reminders of the beauty and fragility of our animal world.
The Afterlife series has been exhibited in venues including The Horniman Museum, London and Summerhall, Edinburgh.
This is a hardcover edition with 112 pages and 47 colour plates. The book includes an essay by natural history curator, Paolo Viscardi.
